Shri Raj Kumar Singh Raj Kumar Singh assumed the charge on 03 September’ 2017 as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and New & Renewable Energy after the Cabinet reshuffle in which former Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal has been promoted as Railway Minister.

Mr. Singh joined Indian Administrative Services in 1975 in the Bihar cadre and held several positions in Government of Bihar and Government of India during his 38 years long bureaucratic life. Mr. Singh held the position of Home Secretary to Govt. of India before retirement on 2013.He joined the Bhartiya Janata Party and contested Parliament Elections in 2014 and became a member of the Indian Parliament since May 2014.

Minister Raj Kumar Singh said his ministry will attain its objectives on time and said he was certain to come up to the expectations of the Prime Minister. He also said that we have to electrify (the unelectrified villages) within a set time frame,”
